Kabokweni Mega Store was the place to be as customers from near and far gathered in anticipation of the 7th Car Competition Draw on the 8th March 2025! The event was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to our dedicated team who meticulously planned every detail—from the grand stage setup to the spacious layout, gifts and prizes and many other background preparations that took place to ensure an unforgettable experience for all. The biggest question on everyone’s mind: Who would drive away in the brand-new Toyota Vitz?
Our esteemed VIP guests graced the occasion, adding prestige to the celebration. Among them were Induna M.S. Lukhele from Gutshwa Traditional Council, Captain Shelly Nsimba from Kabokweni SAPS, Ms. Mazibuko, a resident and beneficiary of our CSI initiatives, Ms. Connie Ubisi, 2023 winner of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mr. Senzo Khoza, 2024/25 winner from Tonga of the brand-new Toyota Vitz, Mr. Collen Bulunga, Steering Committee Member of the Dwaleni Borehole Project, and Mr. S.R. Mnisi, Principal of Zikodze Secondary School.
Our dynamic Programme Directors, Mr. Isaac Phokane (Branch Manager – Swalala) and Mr. Simphiwe Moholana (Branch Manager – Builden), kept the energy high and the crowd engaged. True to Laduma tradition, the event began with a heartfelt prayer and a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by the students of Zikodze Secondary School.
A DAY FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT!
Suppliers including Mamba Cement, Matus, Shaik, Tile Magic, Corobricks, and Golden Choice Paint and others brought extra excitement with product showcases and fantastic giveaways. But the highlight of the day was not only about winning—it was also about customer/community engagement.
Our Corporate Social Investment Project beneficiaries shared touching testimonies of how Laduma Hardware has transformed their lives. Mr. Mnisi expressed deep appreciation for the support in building Zikodze Secondary School’s administration block, emphasizing its positive impact on teaching and learning. He further implored Laduma Hardware to continue to offer support to other schools in the iNsikazi Circuit as this was a worthy cause. One of the learners from his school beautifully captured Laduma’s mission in a poem: “Laduma is like a candle that consumes itself to share light with others.”
Echoing similar sentiments was Ms. Mazibuko’s whose family’s life had changed because their home had been upgraded and Mr. Collen Bulunga’s whose community had their basic need of water supply adequately met through the life-changing borehole project sponsored by Kabokweni Mega Store in Dwaleni.
CULTURAL ENTERTAINMENT & MUSIC!
Adding a cultural flair to the event were Gutshwa Pre-School learners, Siyakhula Sibane Senhlonipho and Khumbula Primary School Traditional dancers showcasing young talent and exhilarating performances while our own Gumba Gumba DJ’s kept the energy high with music that kept the crowd on their toes.
THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…
The festivities of the day proceeded eventually culminating to the much-anticipated draw. As per the Laduma norm, VIP Guests were called upon to do honours of selecting the winners after a thorough mix of the Car Competition entries by the Stores’ management. Before the big moment, we had some fantastic consolation prizes for grabs:

And then… the big moment arrived! Induna M.S. Lukhele took the stage for the final draw. The suspense was intense. The silence was peculiar— one could hear a pin drop as the process unfolded. And then… a coupon was drawn.
In a moment, after the verifications were done, the phone rang… and to everyone’s surprise, it rang within the audience!

The staff, the suppliers, the audience all erupted in excitement as Dumisani, a well-known and loyal customer of Kabokweni Mega Store. Dumisani had just won the brand-new Toyota Vitz! And for the first time, the grand prize winner was present at the draw! What an electric moment—one for the history books in the community of Kabokweni and Laduma Hardware’s chronicles!
He could not contain his joy—beaming with smiles as the crowd erupted in celebration! Hugs, screams, ululations, and dance filled the air as friends, family, and fellow customers gathered around to congratulate him. It was a moment of pure excitement, a true testament to the magic of Laduma Hardware’s Car Competition Draws!
Witnessing a loyal customer from Kabokweni Mega Store win right in front of our eyes made this draw even more special. What an unforgettable day!
