Laduma Hardware is passionate about contributing towards the upliftment of communities it serves. In some projects, sponsorship is wholly funded and in other projects, we partner with other organisations, public, private, Non-Governmental Organisations and influential persons in the communities such as Kings or Chiefs that share the same vision for community development and upliftment.

Our aim is to be a good corporate citizen and a business with a heart. We demonstrate this by taking action in small but meaningful ways.

Our overall strategy is informed by answering 3 simple questions

  • Is the project in the community that we serve?
  • Is the project going to make meaningful contribution towards the upliftment of a family or the community?
  • Do we have still have funds to finance CSI initiatives with the allocated annual budget?

CSI Focus Areas

Laduma Hardware directs Corporate Social Investment spend to the following areas:

  • Education sector;
  • Addressing the needs of destitute families especially orphans and the elderly;
  • Technical Skills Training;
  • Youth Development and Empowerment; and
  • Socio Economic Development Initiatives.

Our aim is to be a good corporate citizen. We always strive to leave indelible marks in the hearts and minds of the communities we serve. We do this by scheduling projects annually on our Events Calendar. We also leverage  on flagship days such as the Youth Day or Youth Month, Mandela Day/Mandela Month and also on Heritage Day where we advocate for ubuntu as part of our rich and diversified heritage.

Our Flagship projects in the Financial Year 2020/21 include building a 1 room unit for Gogo Mkhatshwa  at Oakley Soweto ( just outside Mkhuhlu), co partnering with Kabokweni Policing forum  to build a home for orphans at Shweni village, Giving a new look to a home for the disabled in Kgautswane village in Burgersfort, Donating sanitary towels to 3 schools in Tonga and many others.

Procedure for Project Selection

  1. Project Owner(s) submit project proposals to the nearest store by email (should link to the CSI policy document)
  2. Store Management conducts due diligence, screens and offers recommendation to Executive Management through the Marketing Division.
  3. Executive Management reviews recommendations and further conducts additional research to ensure project suitability to Corporate Social Investment’s Policy.
  4. Outcome of the Decision is communicated to Project Owner within 6 weeks after its submission.
  5. If approved, direct involvement of staff members in the project is encouraged. This is where we get our hands dirty towards a worthy cause.
