A group of concerned citizens observed how Gogo Thalitha Mashabane of Mafambisa, in Naas, was living in a rented home for some time despite being an elderly citizen. They then took it upon themselves to start making a contribution to build a home for her. The group of concerned citizens, is from around the Nkomazi area and is coordinated by Mr. Bongani Mgiba. They started the building project in July 2022. Half way, they realised that their funds were getting depleted and then approached Laduma Hardware to assist in completing the home for Gogo Mashabane.
Being a concerned corporate citizen, Laduma Hardware assessed the project and considered it to be a worthy cause. Laduma Hardware Tonga sponsored roofing materials, cement, window frames and glasses, as well as doors. Other additional materials needed to give the home a beautiful finish, are still being assessed further as the project is nearing completion and due for handover at the end of September 2022.
