The sun seemed to rise from the West on February 28, 2025, for Barobie Daphney Mohlala, another winner of Laduma Hardware’s highly contested Car Competitions! After fierce competition among Acornhoek, Swalala, Builden, and Hluvukani Laduma Hardware stores, luck was on her side—making Hluvukani Laduma Hardware a two-time winning branch. The excitement was palpable as this marked the second consecutive win for Hluvukani Laduma Hardware. In the 2023/24 Car Competition, Ms. Connie Ubisi; a customer of the same store also won herself away in a brand-new Urban Cruiser.
A warm welcome awaited Ms. Mohlala as VIP guests, family, friends, and community members gathered to celebrate her big win. The energetic Thembie Shabangu led the event, keeping spirits high with lively Question &Answer sessions, dance competitions, and fun games. The joy in the air was undeniable as everyone shared in the excitement of the moment.
Among the VIP guests that graced this joyous event were Induna Eric Ndlovu and his assistant Mr. Manyike from the Mnisi Traditional Council, Pastor Lawrence Ndlovu and long-standing loyal customer of Laduma Hardware Hluvukani, and Mandla Ndlovu, representing the Local Councillor Ms. Emeldah Mabunda.
In his speech, Induna Ndlovu expressed his appreciation for Laduma Hardware’s positive impact in the Hluvukani community, emphasizing how the store brings real change to people’s lives. He also praised the transparency of the competition, noting that Laduma Hardware runs it openly and fairly. Echoing the same sentiment, Mr. Madonsela commended Laduma Hardware for its ongoing efforts to uplift the community, not only by creating jobs in a rural area but also by building homes for the less fortunate and helping customers maximize their spending power. He highlighted how the store’s competitions provide an opportunity for community members to benefit simply by purchasing building materials, making a real difference in these challenging economic times. Mr. Madonsela further encouraged the community of Hluvukani to continue supporting Laduma Hardware, as its positive impact is evident to all.
In her reply speech, Ms. Mohlala expressed her joy for being the proud owner of a brand-new Toyota Vitz. She narrated how she couldn’t believe that she had won when she received the call from Laduma Hardware on the 25th January 2025. She was convinced that it was a scam. She recalled how she remained calm on the phone, doubting the reality of it all. However, after visiting the store to confirm, the excitement truly set in. Now, she proudly holds the ownership papers to her brand-new Toyota Vitz. Ms Mohlala expressed deep gratitude to Laduma Hardware Hluvukani for the opportunity to partake in the 2024/25Car Competition. She appreciated the staff’s help as she completed and submitted her competition entry. She pledged to continue spreading the word about the authenticity of Laduma Hardware’s competitions and to be a proud ambassador of the brand.
