The long-awaited day finally arrived on March 28, 2025, for Dumisani Lukhele, a valued customer of Kabokweni Mega Store. But he’s more than just a customer—he’s a businessman who depends on our store’s operations, transporting buildware and hardware items for local customers with his bakkie.
However, March 28th wasn’t about business as usual—it was all about Dumisani!
A well-known personality among our staff and the community, Dumisani took center stage as he became the proud winner of a brand-new Toyota Vitz!
A Celebration to Remember!
The event was graced by Induna M.S. Lukhele from Gutshwa Tribal Council, Pastor Nkosi, and the Lukhele family, all present to celebrate their own. The vibrant Sales Manager, Lindo Maseko, led the proceedings, taking everyone on a nostalgic journey through Laduma Hardware’s Car Competitions.
She highlighted how previous winners hailed from Acornhoek (2022) and Hluvukani (2023), making Dumisani the first-ever winner from Kabokweni Mega Store! She applauded Laduma Hardware’s Executive Management for this life-changing initiative, reinforcing the message that our competitions are 100% real
Then, the celebration erupted!
A VIP’s Perspective: The Selection Process
Induna M.S. Lukhele, our distinguished guest, took the floor, expressing gratitude to Laduma Hardware for its positive impact on the community—not just through competitions but also through development initiatives.
He reflected on March 8, 2025, when he had the nerve-wracking responsibility of selecting the Grand Prize Winner at Kabokweni Mega Store. After multiple draws, Dumisani’s name finally emerged as the lucky winner, slected amongst thousands of competition entries!
Dumisani’s Big Moment
Then, it was time for the man of the moment to speak!
Despite his shy nature, Dumisani kicked off his response with energetic dance moves, expressing his joy. He shared his journey leading up to this grand win, emphasizing his unwavering belief from the moment he entered the competition in and around May 2024 that he would win the brand new Toyota Vitz.
“I just knew this car was mine,” he recalled, revealing that he had told people around him he would win—despite only entering once!
His excitement was palpable as he relived the nerve-wracking moment when his phone number was called. He recalled hearing most of his digits called out—except the last two, which were deliberately withheld for security reasons.
Then, his phone rang,
The sound echoed across the Car Competition event on March 8, 2025—a moment he would never forget.
In a moment, the caller confirmed the incredible news! INDEED, HE WAS THE WINNER!
Overcome with emotion, Dumisani ran out of words, thrilled that after a year of waiting and believing, the car was finally his. He expressed deep appreciation to Laduma Hardware for the life-changing opportunity and vowed to support Laduma Hardware even more!
The Official Handover
The event culminated in the official handover of the car keys and ownership papers by Ms. Angel Ngobeni, the Branch Manager.
She expressed the team’s excitement over rewarding a loyal customer and local businessman. More importantly, she noted that Dumisani’s win served as proof to the Kabokweni community that Laduma Hardware delivers on its promises!
The celebrations continued with music, dancing, and photoshoots.
