Giyani Comes Alive as Laduma Hardware Hands Over the Brand-New Suzuki Fronx!
On 16 April 2025, history was made in Giyani as Laduma Hardware proudly handed over the 9th and final car in our latest Car Competition! For the first time since the campaign’s launch in 2022, a customer from Giyani Laduma Hardware took home the grand prize — and what a joyful moment it was for Ms. Gladys Maswanganyi!
The event took place right in front of our store, opposite Masingita Mall, creating a buzz along Giyani’s main road. Passers-by, travellers, and shoppers couldn’t help but stop and marvel at the festive atmosphere — traffic even came to a standstill as the excitement filled the air!
And in true Giyani spirit, the celebration began with a vibrant Xibelani dance as our Laduma staff and the Maswanganyi family broke into joyous moves, setting the tone for the day. Our energetic Programme Director, Mr. Cliff Makhubele, then opened with a prayer and officially welcomed the guests.
Distinguished guests who came to grace the occasion included Station Commander at Giyani South African Police Service (SAPS) Brigadier Serakwane, members of the SAPS, and Ward Councillor Mr. Given Nghunyula, all showing up in support of Ms. Maswanganyi and the Laduma family.
The highlight? When Store Manager Mr. Munaf Patel, alongside Area Manager Mr. Suresh Muthiah, officially handed over the keys and car ownership papers to Ms. Maswanganyi, screams of joy, and dance erupted spontaneously from the audience. Speeches of gratitude followed from the Maswanganyi family representative, the Station Commander, and the Councillor — all appreciating Laduma Hardware’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves and encouraging other businesses to copy from this beautiful example.
In her heartfelt reply speech, Ms. Maswanganyi shared how, on the day she visited the store, she had intended to make her purchase using cash. However, upon learning that her goods could not be delivered on the same day, she was advised to open an account and deposit the funds so she could redeem them with purchases the following day. Initially, she was hesitant and worried about the safety of her money. She even joked that she was ready to report us to the police if anything went wrong! But that one brave decision to trust us changed everything. She followed the advice, and that ultimately led her to enter the car competition draw—thanks to the encouragement and guidance of our friendly Giyani staff.
She recalled how she couldn't believe the incredible news she received on March 22, 2025: she was the lucky winner of a brand-new Suzuki Fronx.
“Since the breaking news on March 22, I’ve had sleepless nights, waiting in anticipation for the official handover and I am happy that the day has finally come. Thank you, Giyani Laduma Hardware staff, for your excellent service, patience, and encouragement—and most importantly, for keeping your promise. Today, I’m driving home in my brand-new car,” she remarked in excitment.
Finally, the moment of truth arrived. With grace and pride, Ms. Maswanganyi stepped into the brand-new, sleek, shiny white Suzuki Fronx. The crowd erupted into joyful dance once again. As she turned the ignition, the atmosphere came alive—whistles, cheers, and vibrant xibelani dance moves broke out spontaneously. Ms. Maswanganyi drove off in the stunning Suzuki Fronx — a true head-turner and now a proud symbol of Giyani Laduma Hardware’s commitment to keeping its promises.
